Three years before the story begins, officials finally revealed their existence and enacted the “Interspecies Cultural Exchange Act” to regulate their integration into society. These supernatural beings, referred to as “liminals,” now live among humans as part of a cultural exchange program, residing with host families much like foreign students or au pairs.

However, this arrangement comes with strict rules, the most important being that neither humans nor liminals are permitted to harm one another. Despite these safeguards, Kimihito’s life becomes increasingly chaotic as he navigates the challenges of coexisting with these extraordinary housemates. The series humorously explores the cultural clashes, personal struggles, and unexpected bonds that form between humans and liminals in this unconventional living situation.

With its unique premise and blend of comedy, romance, and fantasy, Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou has gained a dedicated fanbase both in Japan and internationally.
