Summary

Bruce feels utterly defeated. After witnessing his girlfriend leave him for someone else, the university student sees no reason to continue living. Lost in despair, he stumbles upon an ad for the Space Force—an elite military unit tasked with defending Earth from alien threats. A desperate plan forms in his mind: he recalls the classic trope where the hero bravely sacrifices himself, telling his team, “I’ll handle this. Go on ahead.” This seems like the perfect way to go out in a blaze of glory, finally being seen as the fearless protagonist he always wished to be. But there’s a catch—despite his intentions, Bruce is far more skilled than he realizes, making it harder than expected to meet his tragic end. His competence keeps getting in the way of his grand, self-sacrificial exit.
