Haikyuu!!

Shoyo Hinata, a junior high student, discovers a newfound passion for volleyball after watching a national championship game on TV. Despite his short stature, he is inspired by the tournament’s legendary player, known as the “Little Giant,” and decides to pursue the sport. Determined to improve, he practices alone and eventually forms a volleyball club at his school. By his final year of middle school, three members join the team, including two former rivals who are convinced by Hinata’s enthusiasm to compete in the championships. However, their dreams are crushed in their first tournament match when they face the top-seeded team led by Tobio Kageyama, nicknamed the “King of the Court.” Despite their humiliating loss, Hinata refuses to give up and swears to one day defeat Kageyama.

Years later, Hinata enrolls at Karasuno High School, eager to join their renowned volleyball team. To his shock, his former rival, Kageyama, is now his teammate. The story follows their journey as they navigate rivalry, teamwork, and personal growth. Created by Haruichi Furudate, the manga series debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump in February 2012 and quickly gained popularity, selling over twelve million copies by December 2014. Viz Media announced at New York Comic Con that they had acquired the rights to publish the manga in North America, with an official release scheduled for 2016. The series blends intense sports action with compelling character development, making it a favorite among fans.
